US 97: Modoc Point - Hagelstein Park Project
US 97 is a critical part of the State's transportation system and carries a high volume of freight and tourist traffic from the Washington to California borders. It is also an important highway for local traffic. Keeping roads in good condition and providing for safe travel are critical parts of the mission for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
This Project is located approximately 5 miles north of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Its purpose was to complete safety improvements and bring the highway up to standards.
For this recently completed Oregon DOT project, Hilfiker Retaining Walls supplied over 100,000 Square feet of Steepened Slope, almost 20,000 Square Feet of ERS and 1,775 Cubic Yards of ArtWeld Gabions to K&E Excavating, Inc. in order to complete a retaining structure with a total height of over 170'.
