• Welded Wire Wall - Rock Face

Hilfiker’s Welded Wire Wall can be designed for a variety of different facing options, which are usually driven by either preferred aesthetics or available backfill.  

For a rock-facing, often a filter fabric wrap is placed behind the rock fill zone at the face as a soil separation wrap, to prevent smaller fines from the reinforced backfill zone migrating through the rock fill and out the face.  The backing mat used at the face typically has 4”x3” openings, and therefore usually 3 – 6” rock is specified.

A rock facing can help facilitate compaction at the face, provides for a strong face for the finished structure, and is free-draining.
